At $349 the Kobra 3 delivers 600 mm/s motion, excellent LeviQ 3.0 auto-leveling, and an optional ACE Pro unit that adds 4–8 color printing with something nobody else offers at this price — active filament drying while printing. In humid climates, that alone can justify the purchase.
The bill comes due in polish. Multicolor purging is wasteful — one user reported 1.75 kg of waste on a 150 g print with early firmware. The AI spaghetti detection throws false positives that pause prints, ACE Pro feeding can clog, and community reports of warped beds and snapped belts point to a real QC lottery. Parts can take 4–6 weeks.
This is the classic enthusiast bargain: superb hardware value if you are willing to be your own support department. One long-term reviewer found print quality comparable to a Bambu X1 Carbon when running smoothly — the operative phrase being "when running smoothly."
