What budget printers compromise
- Multicolor — usually absent or an add-on. The Carbon 2 Combo is the exception.
- Enclosure — the cheapest picks are open-frame; only the Centauri Carbon line is enclosed under $400.
- Polish — cheaper machines need more babysitting. The A1 Combo at $400 is the line where "just works" starts.
- Support — budget brands\u2019 support is slower. Buy from retailers with real return policies.
